Scott-Day Paint and Supply Co., the most recent occupant of this mid-1930s building located just southwest of downtown Houston, has been there since 1963. It also was home to Howard Wood, interior decorator, in the 1940s when Cra-Bell moved up the road to the corner of Westheimer (still Hathaway then) and Whitney streets (currently home to Dolce Vita restaurant). The original tenant’s name, Cra-Bell, was made in part by one of the company’s founders Willis L. Craig.

In late 2014, a clock above the building’s name, thought to be original to the building was stolen:
