401 E. Davis St. – Conroe TX (built 1948; designed by Frank C. Dill; currently the Owen Law Firm)
Excerpt from Progressive Architecture, December 1948:
Clinic for a doctor, nurse-assistant, and receptionist-bookkeeper. One point visual control, a requirement. Noise and dirt to be excluded as much as possible; economy of construction, ease of maintenance, and durability, important factors.
Structural scheme of lightweight concrete block (economy; durability; fireproofness; sound and thermal insulation); fixed glazing (to keep out noise, dust, and dirt); roof overhangs (to protect glass areas from direct sun).
