Kier-Nickles Auto Hotel – Houston

602-606 Louisana St. – Houston TX (built 1925; demolished 1964; also Blaise Parking Hotel; currently Jones Plaza)

For the local man, leaving his car for the day, there will be every convenience now obtainable from a combined garage, filling station, and cleaning establishment with the added attraction of real economy.

The tourist will find everything imagineable arranged for his comfort and convenience. A palatial ladie’s rest room with showers, dressing rooms, writing tables, soft divans, and a homy fireplace will ease the tired traveller after a hard cross-country trip.

The first floor will be divided into a filling station, an accessory store, two merchants establishments, and storage space. Facing on Louisiana Street there will be a battery service station and the ladie’s rest room which is the first of its kind in the South.

The second floor will be used for storage space entirely. The third floor will be divided into two large storerooms; one a bonded warehouse for dealers and customers who wish accommodation for a few days or weeks, and the other for those wishing long storage privileges.

In the basement, three racks equipped with the latest type compressed air washing and cleaning devices will be able to removate more than a hundred cars a day.

Instead of the slow moving elevators used in most garages the new Automobile Hotel will be provided with a great circular ramp leading in a gradual spiral from the center of the first floor to the third. Cars will be driven up and down this sloping roadway with no inconvenience or delay to patrons. For the convenience of owners an elevator is provided to take them to where their cars are stored.
