Urbain Valentine House – Houston

1814 (aka 1816) Lubbock St. – Houston TX (built 1885; demolished September 2005)

 

This Queen Anne style home was built by Urbain Valentine who was the son of Peter Valentine, a valet of William Marsh Rice. Urbain was a machinist and millworker for the Houston and Texas Central Railway and later a janitor at the court house; he moved from the Lubbock house around 1915 (his ex-wife and children remained).
